In 2021 and 2022, we got to live out a park nerd’s dream: staying behind in White Sands National Park after the park closes for the night to take in the amazing night skies! Our star parties consisted of sunset adventures like looking for animal tracks in the dunes, having Dune Dance Offs, and seeing how many layers of clothing we could put on before the temperature dropped to nothing. Once the stars were out, the real party started! With the help of our amazing friend Chuck and his telescope, we got up close and personal with all those twinkling lights and the fascinating stories humans have been telling about them forever.
